Daily demonstrations, lecture and individualized help will be offered. The color and strength of the light source must be understood by the artist working in color. Painters will focus on those elements as well as color relationships. These areas of study are fundamental to the successful interpretation of the figurative subject. When drawing we focus on shape, edge and value relationships. During the final two weeks, we will paint the costumed model. Two weeks of portrait study will be followed by two weeks of working with the figure model. ![]() Portrait, nude and costumed models will be posed in a supportive context. Students may choose to draw or paint the model from life.
